DOLCE&GABBANA: TOWARDS A TRANSPARENT AND TRACEABLE VALUE CHAIN
Achieving complete visibility throughout the entire value chain is a fundamental responsibility for Dolce&Gabbana to ensure maximum transparency towards customers, suppliers, employees, and stakeholders. The company has accurately mapped its supplier base, extending beyond the first tier, to ensure traceability of all purchases and their ESG characteristics. This approach enables the enhancement of the supply chain monitoring program, supported by a structured third-party audit plan.
Responsible Procurement Program and ethical-social audits
As part of the Responsible Procurement program, Dolce&Gabbana has implemented a rigorous monitoring system for its supply chain, entrusting a specialized and independent third party with conducting thorough audits. This process, structured for industrial divisions and certain priority categories of indirect services, involves classifying suppliers based on their risk profile and the nature of the supply relationship.
The verifications follow international standards such as SA8000 and cover crucial aspects including: child labor, forced labor, worker health and safety, freedom of association, discrimination, disciplinary procedures, working hours, compensation, environmental impact, subcontractor management, legality, and ethics. This methodology allows the company to identify potential critical issues and promptly implement corrective actions.
To ensure the effectiveness of the program, Dolce&Gabbana has implemented a governance model involving various company functions that contribute to analyzing audit results and defining interventions based on the severity of identified non-conformities. These interventions can range from no action in positive cases, to sending Corrective Action Plans to suppliers, to terminating the commercial relationship in the most serious cases. A structured follow-up process ensures verification of the implementation of corrective actions within predefined timeframes, including supplementary inspections for the most significant issues. In FY25, Dolce&Gabbana conducted 146 audits on industrial suppliers across different divisions and on certain indirect service and logistics suppliers identified as priorities.
Transparency and communication of sustainable commitments
Dolce&Gabbana’s first Sustainability Report for fiscal year 2024, developed internally in accordance with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, marked a significant step towards compliance with CSRD regulations. The report ensures clear and detailed communication on the company’s sustainable progress, including the results of the audit program and initiatives undertaken to improve ESG performance throughout the value chain, consolidating Dolce&Gabbana’s commitment to more transparent and responsible fashion.
